OUR STORY
The Charles Frederick Harget Camp 706 Sons of Confederate Veterans located in New Bern, North Carolina, since its founding has focused on marking the graves of Confederate Veterans in New Bern's Historic Cedar Grove Cemetery whose graves were either unmarked, or marked with damaged or illegible markers. Due to restrictions placed by the Veterans Administration, Camp 706 was not able to receive Veterans Administration provided markers for many of the veterans.
As Camp Commander, through months of research, I found that most monument and memorial companies were way too expensive. As a result, I partnered with a headstone manufacturer and started Southern Heritage Products to provide high quality VA Style Replicas at a reasonable rate.
At Southern Heritage Products we pass along those savings to groups and individuals in order that no Confederate Veteran has an unmarked grave.
I have been a member of the SCV since 1987, starting my membership at Lee-Jackson Camp 1 in Richmond, Virginia. I am the founding and current Commander of The Pvt Charles Frederick Harget Camp 706 in New Bern, NC. My goal is to help Camps and individuals to mark as many unmarked Confederate graves as possible so that future generations can understand the sacrifice the Confederate Soldier gave to his country.
